I need help controlling my anger?

Ignore your family members when they start to get you mad. This means getting away from them so your anger won't trigger. This helped me, as i just zoned out, so I won't get angry. I would say, the best thing to do is to PREVENT yourself from becoming angry, before you do. Because sadly, when ANYONE is angry that is the only thing they think about, and they say and do stuff they don't actually mean. Remember how much your family do for you, and how much they love you. I mean, some parents would kick their kids out if they did this, but your parents didn't because they care and love about you. I know that wasn't what you were asking for, but i just wanted to include that. Another great way to not take out your anger on your parents, is to write letters to them, including all the things that you wanted to scream at them. This way, your anger will go out on paper. Later, after a day or so, if you're still angry then give it to them, but if NOT then read it and see how you were overreacting. Intend that you will send this paper to them so you can really let out your feelings. But wait a while or a day to give it to them, that way if you get calm, then you won't give it, saving a lot of unnecessarily hurt emotions. I do this, and know many others who do this. Another thing to do is listen to songs, and think of a funny event that happened to you, to cheer you up, or something your excited about. :) I heard screaming and beating a pillow also helps. The last advice is to play a sport, or a hobbie. This way your brain will get focused, and you could let your thoughts out calmly.
