this is a disgusting old fashioned practice and as much as the hindu practice is not carried out more,many hindu's of today have some real archiac beliefs that has nothing to do with their religion but are warped practices that have evolved over time for the convenience of a select privilidged few. One of these is the caste system and arranged marriages.
