Is a hard disk soaked in water for an hour completely dead?

I have an old hard disk that I'd like to recycle (not make available for re-use, just send to an electronics reclamation place to save the heavy metals), but I don't want any chance that any data can be retrieved from it. I submerged it in water for an hour, is that good enough?
